Charter
Grades are cumulative riding under freewheel constraints. Still sitting with the brake locked against a wall is a setup drill, not a seal. Every grade after the gate mixes scrubbing (brake) and floating (coast). Posture passes when the back and shoulders stay straight and the lean lives in the hips.
- Pass prior grades before claiming the next seal.
- Declare wheel size, hub, brake, and surface when attesting.
- Checks stay on this device (localStorage). Export a certificate when a grade completes.
- Fail reasons belong in your notes: rounded back on stop, late lever on the down, upright release into a backward dump.
GATE Entry gate Fixed-gear prerequisites and freewheel setup drill 0/5
Fixed gear
Setup drill (not a riding grade)
Fail G0.1–G0.4 and stay on fixed. Use G0.5 as warm-up every freewheel session.
FW1 Start Hip-tip start, assisted coast, first free float 0/6
Pass when starts no longer dump backward from upright release, and a short free coast exists.
FW2 Brake–coast Scrub, float, free pedals, crank positions 0/7
Pass when brake, coast, and free-crank feel belong to the same ride.
FW3 Continuous Distance, crank flip under brake, uphill restore 0/6
Pass when the brake hand is boring and uphill fade does not end the outing.
FW4 Terrain & options Undulation, hop, long float, electives 0/4 req

Electives (at least one)
